History

Rivaero was founded in 2013.  Since forming the company, the management team have been absorbed in attending to the multiple tasks required to eventually bring a new aircraft type to production.

Many hours have been spent around the design drawing-board.  In the interim, airfield and factory construction and fitting have been completed and we are currently in the process of certifying the aircraft manufacturing facility as acceptable and suitable for developing, building and testing gyroplanes and associated sub-systems.

Material purchases and sub-contracting arrangements have been concluded and prototype manufacture is almost complete – the requisite test-flight program will begin early in 2018!

Location

Our manufacturing facilities have been constructed near Jongensfontein, in the beautiful, aptly named ‘Eden’ district of the Western Cape.  A long term lease agreement for the use of the existing hangar and airfield facilities in Riversdale is also in the process of being finalised.
It is from these facilities, situated on the Southern-Cape coast of South Africa, that the manufacture and distribution of our new, utility gyroplane will be undertaken.

We are ideally located, relatively close to international air (Cape Town) and sea (Cape Town & Coega) ports, where local business set-up expenses, rental rates and labour costs all compare favourably with national averages.

Increasingly, as the business grows, the local community will benefit from the ongoing creation of employment opportunities.
